In a surprising turn of events, Danielle Collins announced her retirement from professional tennis at the end of the 2024 season just a few months ago. However, she recently claimed the biggest title of her career at the Miami Open. Despite being unseeded and ranked No. 53 in the world, Collins displayed exceptional performance throughout the tournament, culminating in a victory over Elena Rybakina in the final.

Collins' triumph marked her first 1000-level title and her first WTA trophy since 2021. Her remarkable win propelled her ranking to No. 22 as she prepares for the Charleston Open. Despite her retirement plans, Collins remains focused on her health challenges and desire to start a family.
