Daniel Radcliffe and 'Madonna' get steamy in Weird: The Al Yankovic Story trailer

Daniel Radcliffe transforms himself into entertainer 'Weird Al' in his newest film where he stars alongside Evan Rachel Wood as Madonna.

The Harry Potter star will portray the curly-haired musician who first found fame in the 1970s.

In the film's official trailer, Daniel, 33, rocks a thick mane of tight curls, a moustache and a pair of wire-rimmed glasses.

Weird Al turned Madonna's 1984 track 'Like A Virgin' into his hit parody 'Like A Surgeon'.

In the clip, it shows Evan dressed as the Material Girl as she asks Weird Al to remake her song.

"I was wondering if you were going to do a parody of my song Like A Virgin," she asks as she struts around the marble floors of his mansion.

Really leaving his days at Hogwarts behind, Daniel asked: "I'm curious, is that song autobiographical?"

"Yes, except for the fact that I've had a lot of sex," she quipped.

The pair then have a furious make-out session in Daniel's character's bedroom.

For chunks of the trailer, the actor appears to have his shirt off - which isn't a new thing for Daniel who starred in the theatre performance of Equus which he was completely naked.

The Weird Al biopic opens with Daniel announcing: "I’m tired of people thinking I’m some kind of joke,

"My whole life, all I’ve wanted…is to make up new words to a song that already exists".

He's joined by The Office's Rainn Wilson, who stars as Dr Demento - the radio DJ who helped boost Weird's career.

The biographic also follows moments of struggle in the music legend's life.

"In front of all the billions of people around the world watching right now, all I want to say is be as weird as you want to be," he says.

"You will never find true happiness until you truly accept who you are."

Al Yankovic was born in California in 1959 and has become known for his spoof songs including: "White and Nerdy", "Jurassic Park" and "My Bologna".

He earned five Grammy Awards with 16 nominations and has written two children's books: When I Grow Up (2011) and My New Teacher And Me! (2013).

According to Celebrity Net Worth, he has an estimated net worth of around $20million.

Responding to the casting, Al joked that he was planning a biopic for a while.

He quipped: "When my last movie UHF came out in 1989, I made a solemn vow to my fans that I would release a major motion picture every 33 years, like clockwork.
