Nile Wilson made an early bid for victory in Sunday's Dancing on Ice final by making history on the ITV show with its most dangerous move.
Bookies' red hot tip to triumph in the last episode of the new series, Nile had the highest average score going into the finale, after some amazing performances, including a moving personal skate to In My Blood during last week's semi, which earned him and pro partner Olivia the first 40 of the competition.
While some people have accused the judges of 'over marking' Nile and Olivia, their performances have blown millions of viewers away every week and they upped the ante even more in the final. First onto the rink with their Showcase skate, they were joined by a host of other professionals for a swashbuckling spectacle of a performance, with a Pirates of Caribbean themed routine.

In the VT that played out before he and Olivia took to the ice, Nile revealed he'd be attempting the headbanger, the notorious move that has struck fear into many Dancing on Ice contestant and also claimed a number of casualties. In taking on the challenge, Nile became the first male celeb in the show's history to do the headbanger and, after it thankfully went off without any errors or nasty injuries, the gymnast was rewarded with another 40.
Skating legend Christopher Dean heaped praise on Nile for completing it in style, with help from pro Brendyn Hatfield who swung him round, as viewers flocked to Twitter, to congratulate him for firstly, being brave enough to attempt the headbanger and then doing it so well.
One posted: "WOW! Nile that was amazing & well done on being the first male celebrity to be on the receiving end of the headbanger," with a second tweeting: "I give Nile and Olivia 10.0! Nile, you never cease to amaze me, and that Headbanger!"
