Dancing On Ice's Bez voted off ITV series after awkward skate-off tumble

Bez has become the latest celebrity to be voted off of ITV's Dancing On Ice 2022, after a tumble in the skate-off.

He faced Sally Dynevor and Matt Evers in the dreaded skate-off, before the judges decided to send the star and his skating partner Angela Egan home.

It was Angela who fell during their final skate, but Bez has been tipped for an exit for weeks.

After falling on the ice last week, Bez was shown taking it pretty easy as he moved around the ice and attempted some jumps.

This week, the production team threw all sorts in to distract viewers, it seemed, from Bez's skating - including extra skaters, fireballs and other effects.

At one point Bez was lifted into the air with a pair of huge bat wings, but it wasn't enough to give him better scores.

Viewers believed it was the right time for the star to leave, as did the judges with all five voting to save Sally.

Taking to Twitter, one fan said: "Bez is FINALLY going home never thought I’d live to see this day."

Another said: "FINALLY. He should have gone in week one."

A third fan commented: "Bez is finally out!," while a fourth wrote: "Bez is finally eliminated."

Viewers were desperate to hear what choreographer, dancer and theatre star Arlene had to say by the amusing routine.

But they were disappointed when host Phillip Schofield went across the judges, but didn't go to her.

She made it clear she was Team Sally though when it came down to the skate-off, as she voted to send Bez home.

Love Island's Liberty Poole was the previous casualty of the series, voted off last week after a fall on the ice - having skated against Kye White.

Before her departure, it was S Club 7 star Rachel Stevens who was voted out in the skate-off, again against Olympian Kye.

The previous week saw Ria Hebden lose her place in the competition, while first to leave the 2022 series was former rugby pro Ben Foden.

Meanwhile, bosses were reportedly worried that the show would be forced off air this Sunday after Storm Eunice sparked chaos in the week.

The hit skating show is filmed at Bovingdon Airfield in Hemel Hempstead, which is already prone to windy weather.

Yet crew were said to be fearing that history could repeat itself for another ITV show, and were concerned that the marquees and cabins on site could be damaged.

It comes after I'm A Celebrity was taken off air for three days after the set was badly damaged by Storm Arwen last year.

An insider told the Daily Star that they were "bracing themselves".

A show source also told the Mirror: "The show has taken some precautions today as the health and safety of our cast and crew is paramount, but we are very confident that it won’t affect the show on Sunday."

The show was good to go though, with the series not thwarted by another storm after all.

Dancing On Ice airs Sunday at 6pm on ITV.
