Some Dancing On Ice fans screamed sexism after bosses decided against replacing Covid-positive Holly Willoughby.
Holly sat the show out after testing positive but she is expected to make a return for the live final in two weekends' time.
Phillip Schofield flew solo with hosting duties - and that decision raised a few eyebrows.
Viewers were quick to point out that when he caught the bug last month, ITV execs were quick to call in a replacement.
Stephen Mulhern previously filled in for Phil when he caught the virus but this time another host wasn't wanted.
Phil opened Sunday night's show with a message to his fellow This Morning star, who was replaced by Josie Gibson today.
He said early on that it the team had only just discovered the news about Holly. Mirror Online approached ITV for comment.
"As you can see Holly is not here with me tonight," Phillip said.
"We found out just a few hours ago that she's tested positive for Covid.
"I know what it's like to watch this show from home, it is really weird.
"Holly get well soon. Lots of love."
But viewers wanted to know why Phil was replaced in February when he tested positive and Holly wasn't.
One grumbled: "@dancingonice had no problem replacing @Schofe but @hollywills is Ill but no replacement. sexist. @itvstudios."
Another said: "So when @Schofe isn't there, @hollywills needs a co-host, but when it's the other way round Phillip doesn't?
A third wrote: "This week, Holly is the one homesick, and Phil is hosting by himself. The implication that Holly wasn't capable of doing it by herself. Sexism, much @ITV? #DancingOnIce."
Others stuck up for ITV saying it was clearly last minute - and probably too late to source a replacement.
One said: "Think it's more that they had notice Philip tested positive whereas she only tested positive this morning? No time for replacement?"
Another put: "It's because they only found out she was positive with a few hours to go and couldn't get a replacement in time."
A spokesperson for Dancing on Ice said last night: "Unfortunately, Holly Willoughby is unable to host tonight's show after testing positive for Covid-19. We look forward to Holly returning for the Dancing on Ice Live Final."
