Manchester United fans have taken the opportunity to poke fun at Aston Villa goalkeeper Emi Martinez after his mistake led to Bruno Fernandes' goal on Sunday.
United supporters have little time for Martinez following his actions at Old Trafford back in September 2021. With Villa leading 1-0, Fernandes missed a late penalty in front of the Stretford End.
After Fernandes missed the target, Martinez decided to turn towards the home fans and perform a celebratory dance mocking the spot-kick. On Sunday, Fernandes managed to gain some measure of revenge over the Argentinian shot-stopper.

With just less than six minutes of normal time in the first half remaining, Martinez palmed a relatively tame Marcus Rashford effort into the path of Fernandes who slotted home. Despite a year-and-a-half passing since the incident, United supporters have not forgotten what the 30-year-old did and relished his error.
Here is what some fans had to say on Twitter:
Martinez has previously spoken about his actions after the Fernandes penalty miss. "The fact I danced in front of the crowd at Man United was because I could hear people insulting me all throughout the game," he told Amazon Prime Video Sport.
"When they missed a penalty, I remembered all the s*** they were talking about me."
