Dana White has flashed his cash from a casino win just days after admitting to slapping his wife.
The UFC kingpin was in Mexico during the festive period to celebrate the New Year when footage emerged of White arguing with his wife Anne before he slapped her. The video was published by TMZ and saw White resort to making a public apology to explain the situation.
White's wife Anne later defended her husband, stating that the combat sports president's behaviour was very out of character. Now just days after the video came to light, White has posted a picture of himself flashing a wad of cash in the Red Rock casino in Las Vegas.
White stood next to content creator SteveWillDoIt, and captioned the picture: "We killed the @redrockcasino." The 53-year-old has a made a huge success with MMA promotion UFC and it is estimated that he earns around $20million per year from the organisation.
Just hours after the video was released, White came out to immediately clarify the events in Mexico that unfolded and admitted the pair were also forced to apologise to their children. He told TMZ: "My wife and I were out on Saturday night on New Year’s Eve, and unfortunately that’s what happened. I’m one of the guys, you’ve heard me say for years, there’s never, ever an excuse for guy to put his hands on a woman.
"My wife and I have been married for almost 30 years, we’ve known each other since we were 12 years old. We’ve obviously been through some s*** together, we’ve got three kids and this is one of those situations that’s horrible, I’m embarrassed, but it’s also one of those situations that right now, we’re more concerned about our kids.
"We have three kids and obviously since the video popped up, we’ve shown the kids the video. We’re more focused on our family right now. People are going to have opinions on this, and most of the people’s opinions would be right, especially in my case. You don’t put your hands on a woman ever. My wife and I love each other, we’ve been together for a very long time. We’ve known each other since we were very little, and this is just one of those unfortunate situations."
White has been married to his wife Anne since 1995 six years prior to his UFC takeover, with his partner often choosing to stay out of the limelight while the high-profile promoter is thrust into the public eye. However she has since defended her husband and ensured that focus remains on the wellbeing of their family.
"Dana and I have been married for almost 30 years," she also told TMZ. "To say this is out of character for him is an understatement "Nothing like this has ever happened before. Unfortunately, we were both drinking too much on New Year’s Eve and things got out of control, on both sides."
