Dan Walker has shown fans a "strange stain" in the BBC Breakfast studio, just days after announcing that he will be leaving the morning programme within the next few weeks.
The presenter, 45, has been on the BBC for 13 years but is set to move over to Channel 5 later this month, with him due to become a news anchor for the rival broadcaster.
Ahead of his departure from the BBC, he has taken the opportunity to document a mysterious stain that can be found on the floor of the studio located in Salford.
He took fans behind the scenes of BBC Breakfast on Instagram earlier this week, with him posting a video that focused on the red marking found underneath the sofa.
The footage shows a large stain creeping out from underneath the iconic red piece of furniture, with Dan and a colleague laughing about it, as reported by the Daily Star.
Introducing it to fans, he explained: "Well, welcome to the world of the strange BBC Breakfast stain." He subsequently panned to the mysterious marking on the studio floor.
A person in the background - believed to be his co-host Sally Nugent, 50 - could then be heard screaming, asking him: "What is that?" The pair then laughed together.

He had tagged his colleague Sally and BBC Breakfast itself in the recent post on social media, in which the presenter had also included a gif that showed a person retching.
It comes shortly after Dan confirmed that he will be leaving the programme to join Channel 5 in the coming news, with him looking forward to the upcoming career move.
He said: "I'm really excited but this has also been a massive decision for me because I love BBC Breakfast, I love working alongside Sally [Nugent] and I love the team there."
Dan had revealed that Channel 5 approached him with "big ambitions" and added that such opportunities don't come around very often, so he's taking advantage.
He continued in his announcement video: "What I love about this deal is I not only get to present the news, but also host a whole range of programmes right across the channel."
Dan joined BBC's Football Focus in 2009 and remained on the show until last year. He has presented BBC Breakfast since 2016 and has fronted other shows including for BBC Radio 5 Live.
