Dame Kelly Holmes didn't quite know what to do with herself when she accidentally 'swore' live on Loose Women. The former British athlete became a full-time panelist on the ITV lunchtime show back in September.
Dame Kelly, who is a double Olympic champion, said at the time that she had joined the show after finding her "authentic voice". It came after she told her fans that she was gay earlier this year after hiding her sexuality for 34 years and she explained that by joining the panel she would be able to "join in on many conversations that I felt I never could before".
And the 52-year-old has settled right into life on the Loose Women panel. So much so, it appears she got a bit too comfortable during Wednesday's show (December 21).
Kelly joined her Loose Women co-stars, Katie Piper, Denise Welch and Jane Moore on the latest edition of the show and one of their first topics saw the panel discussing Father Christmas' appearance, and whether the festive favourite should be thinking about going on a diet.
Denise and Katie thought the suggestion Santa should be losing weight was ridiculous and argued that he's fictional (sorry kids!) and that he therefore doesn't need to worry about his health in the same way the rest of us do.
As Kelly then agreed with her co-stars, she added in somewhat of a rant: "I'm sorry but I've been in health and fitness all my life but I would literally not care if Santa was fat, thin, black, white, gay, straight."
She then added: "I just want the b****y presents." And Kelly quickly realised her error and covered her mouth with her hands before stepping out of her seat and picking up a 'Loose Women' card to also cover her face.
As the audience laughed at Kelly's reaction, Denise quipped: "That's Dame Kelly Holmes." A panicked Kelly the added: "Oh that's going to be all over the papers now, I just want presents, give me the presents," to which Katie told her: "Don't worry, you are going to get your present. We have got your present."
