Louis Theroux has revealed Dame Judi Dench told him to "f*** off" while he was filming an episode of his latest BBC series.
The veteran investigator is currently fronting Louis Theroux Interviews, which has seen him sit down alongside the likes of Stormzy, Katherine Ryan, Yungblud, Rita Ora and Dame Judi.
Over the course of his career, Louis has found himself in some rather hostile situations including getting rocks thrown at him in Isreal by protestors and also being placed in a headlock by an alcoholic.
But the 52-year-old admits he'd never been told to "f*** off" by a Dame before – until he met Judi Dench.
During their candid conversation, Louis told Dame Judi, 87, that she is in fact, a national treasure and is held in the hearts of many Brits.
Recalling the incident, he told the Metro: "When I say, 'You've been described as a national treasure', she says f*** off in a friendly way'.
"You get the feeling from her that she is someone who never wants to rest on her laurels.
"Every time she goes out to do something of any depth, it's a kind of a struggle because she's out to prove herself again.
"With that is a degree of insecurity about whether she's good enough which makes her so extraordinary."
Elsewhere in the interview, Dame Judi, revealed she has no plans to take a step back from her acting career which has seen her win an Oscar Award as well as several Olivier Awards.
Dame Judi suffers from advanced macular degeneration which has had an impact on her ability to read as well as cut up her own food.
She said: "I don't want to retire. I'm not doing much at the moment because I can't see, it's bad."
The actress who has been regarded as Britain's favourite star added: "I have a photographic memory so a person saying to me, 'This is your line...' I can do that."
Judi explained that while out for dinner with her partner David Mills, he had to cut her food for her as she struggled to see the plate properly.
Over the years, Dame Judi has been open about her condition and explained that she had a "frightful fall" at her home in Surrey which left her on the floor for 30 minutes.
As she lives alone, the James Bond legend was forced to turn to her parrot for help after she tripped over the carpet in her home.
