A trail of stunning ice sculptures is set to go on display at Dalton Park Outlet this February half term.
The seaside-themed event, called the 'Ice and Waves Trail,' will take place on Monday, February 20 and see five impressive sculptures placed around the County Durham shopping centre. All of the pieces will be related to the North East's coastline and will include a starfish, a seagull, a wave and a lighthouse.
Families are being urged to pick up a map and have a go at finding them all for the chance to win a £20 Dalton Park gift card and goody bag. And youngsters will even be able to see a giant ice cream being carved from ice during a live demonstration outside of Adidas at 10am that day.

Richard Kaye, Dalton Park's centre manager, said the free event is part of Visit County Durham’s Year of the Coast campaign.
“We’re really excited about Visit County Durham’s Year of the Coast celebrations and, as a coastal business, we wanted to get involved with the programme of activities," he said.
“What better way to kick off than with a series of ice sculptures dedicated to the nearby breathtaking Durham Heritage Coast?
“We can’t wait to welcome everyone and see the sculpture take shape during the live carving too - it’s the perfect way to kick off our calendar of free events during our 20th anniversary year!”
To be entered into the gift card prize draw, families must hand in their completed trail sheet to the customer service desk with the winner announced on Friday, February 24. Every installation will feature fact sheets, created in partnership with Climate Action North and experts from the group will be on hand to talk to visitors bout protecting the local coast and marine ecosystems.
The Ice and Waves Sculpture trail will be open from 11am until 5pm on Monday, February 20.
