Dalbeattie Primary pupils enjoy sporting success

Dalbeattie Primary has enjoyed a number of sporting successes in recent weeks.

The boys and girls teams both won the Paul Jones football competition.

Both played really well and there were some nerve wracking times.

However, both teams stayed positive throughout and showed great support to each other.

Sporting attitudes from all team members throughout the tournament was amazing.

A huge thank you goes to Mrs Duncan and to Mr Caldow for all his support and to staff and family members for the support and encouragement they have given to the teams.

The P6 school netball teams played in the Stewartry Netball Festival, organised by Active Schools.

There were some great games with fantastic skills and team work on display.

Dalbeattie 1 were first and Dalbeattie 2 were second and the school is proud of them all.

Thanks go to Mrs Duncan and to Mrs Cox for helping out with coaching to get the teams ready and for being there at the festival.

The school recently held its sports day which was a fantastic time.

There was amazing behaviour throughout the day with sporting attitudes and everyone’s achievements celebrated.

The results were:

Boys 300m: winner – Matthew Lindsay-Smith; runner-up – Max Christine;

Girls 300m: winner – Olivia Dawson; runner-up – Anaya Nerestan;
