A dad caught in the middle of a gunfight outside his home told his kids it was like a "game of hide and seek".
Munzir Salman was at his home in Khartoum, Sudan, with his three kids when Sudanese armed force soldiers were ambushed by Rapid Support Forces (RSF) officers outside his block of flats. The 37-year-old, who was born in Sudan, lived in Toxteth from the age of 10 before moving to Dubai and then returning home in 2013.
Fighting erupted in the country's capital Khartoum and across the country earlier this month as powerful rival military factions battle for control of the African nation and its future. The dad is now waiting to fly to the UK, via Larnaca, Cyprus, with his kids Siddig, 11, Shaden, eight, and Yasmin, six.
