Dad's 'heart sank' when he received £100 fine after B&Q visit

A dad was fined £100 after parking at B&Q by the Edge Lane Shopping Park.

Michael Guy, from Wavetree, said he parked a the store on Edge Lane for 21 minutes between 6.37am to 6.58am on Monday, February 20. The 31-year-old, who is an Uber driver, was working at the time and said it's "natural instinct" to go in a car park as he "doesn't want to park on a dark road" with his engine running.

The dad said the fine from Smart Parking did not arrive at the address the car is registered at until Monday, March 27. Michael added he did not personally receive the letter until Wednesday, March 29.
