A Bolton-born dad, who was heavily involved in charity work, was found dead at home after worrying about, debts, the cost of living, and a lump in his neck
Rick Trevor Turner was 'dedicated to helping others' and supported Help For Heroes, as well as organisations helping Ukrainians, an Inquest at Preston Coroner's Court heard. The keen motorcyclist even worked as a Blood Biker.
In the weeks running up to his death, the 51-year-old had started worrying about a lump in his neck. After a visit to his GP, Rick told his partner Sally, 'If it's cancer I don't want treatment'. She tried to reassure Rick and told him 'it might not be anything serious' but he continued to worry about it, LancsLive reports.

Rick's mum June told the inquest that motorbikes had 'always been a big part of his life'. He also loved Star Wars, having met Sally at a convention, as well as drawing.
The hearing heard that Rick was a 'glass half empty' type who had previously expressed suicidal thoughts. His mental health battle had contributed to the breakdown of his marriage to a woman named Alison.
Rick's family revealed that despite being 'dedicated to helping others' he 'never felt that he was good enough'. Sally told the inquest that he had been in debt and was worried about the cost of living prior to his death. worked as a groundsman at a private estate for the last four years
"He'd started drinking more too," she said. "It was every day. When I questioned him about it he said it was to help him sleep."
Rick had struggled with his mental health for most of his adult life. His mum said: "I once came home from work and found him unconscious. He'd taken an overdose."
On the night of April 2 this year, Sally had gone to bed early as she had a charity run the next morning and left Rick downstairs in their Preston home. At some point during the night he messaged his best friend Billy on Facebook and said: "I'll be taking my life tonight bud. Thank you for all the memories."
The next morning Sally woke up and couldn't find Rick in the house. She found him in the garage and despite efforts to resuscitate him he was pronounced dead.
Assistant Coroner Kate Bisset returned a conclusion of suicide and asked Rick's family how he would want to be remembered. They replied: "As someone who always went out of his way to help other people. He was happiest when he was doing things for others."
