After months of pre-release chatter and hype, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners premieres on Sept. 13, 2022. To celebrate, Netflix released an eye-popping trailer.
Set within the neon-infused Cyberpunk 2077 universe, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners tells the tale of a lowly street kid trying to endure whatever Night City throws at him. Becoming an edgerunner, the in-universe equivalent of an outlaw, is integral to survival.
The 10-episode anime series is a joint effort between CD Projekt Red and Studio Trigger, best known for shows Kill la Kill and Little Witch Academia. Some of the biggest names in animation, such as Hiroyuki Imaishi (Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann), Hiromi Wakabayashi (Star Wars: Visions), and Yoh Yoshinari (Promare), Akira Yamaoka (Silent Hill series), are also attached to the project.
There’s a brand new NSFW trailer for Cyberpunk: Edgerunner too, and goodness, does it ever live up to that label. As a heads-up, some sexually suggestive snippets and violent shots are throughout. Check it out on YouTube here.
The extended trailer from earlier this month is an excellent substitute if you want to watch something a little more work-friendly.
