Currys has announced major price lock deals on a range of 40 in-demand essential household items that could save cash-strapped shoppers up to £450. The high-street electrical retailer's promotion has seen prices dropped and locked across 17 popular tech categories to 2021 prices, or lower.
Included in the price locks are a range of everyday household tech such as laptops, TV's, tumble dryers, fridge freezers, washing machines and coffee machines. The list will be reviewed and added to every month.
Launched in stores yesterday, Wednesday, July 20, the retailer has said it will lock all discounted prices for 30 days, which they hope will help customers save some cash to be spend elsewhere during the cost of living crisis.
The UK's largest electrical retailer's price lock promotion on essential tech items comes after research found that 68% of Brits rely on it for their day-to-day life.
They have slashed the price of an LG American Side By Side Fridge Freezer from £1,229 to just £849, leading to a massive £450 saving.
A Kenwood Solo Microwave has also been cut down from its £170 price-tag to last year's price of £99.99, meaning shoppers can save £71 with the purchase.
A Freestanding Beki Cooker has been reduced from £499 to £359, leading to a £140 saving. Meanwhile, a 10KG Hoover Washing Machine has seen a drop in £100 from £369 to just £269.
It is also the latest promotion to be offered from Currys, as they continue to help their customers battle rising costs across the country due to inflation.
The retailer recently launched their "Inflation Busters" promotion which was launched in response to the cost of living crisis. The promotion is made up of three money-saving initiatives - including the 2021 price lock deals.
Currys Chief Commercial Manager Ed Connolly said: "We exist to help everyone enjoy amazing technology, and part of that is making it as accessible and affordable as possible. That’s why we’re launching Price Lock today, freezing the prices on some of our most essential, popular and best-selling items to their 2021 prices or lower.
After a popular trial in March, we’re also re-launching Cash for Trash. From today, anyone can come in-store with any old, broken or unused tech and swap it for a voucher worth £5 or more.
The two initiatives announced today complete our three Summer Inflation Busters, joining last week’s announced 12-Month Pay Delay, which gives individuals and families additional time to pay for their tech to help them through this challenging period
Tech has become an essential part of life and when things break, such as a washing machine, this can have a huge effect on a household’s daily life.
As the leading tech retailer, it’s important that we do what we can to support the UK during the ongoing cost of living crisis. We hope that our Summer Inflation Busters will help people across the UK save money that can be put towards other rising living costs.”
Currys 2021 price lock deals and full Inflation Busters promotions are available in stores and online.
