It took two months but the Steeler Nation finally got what they wanted. No, the Pittsburgh Steelers didn’t announce they were firing offensive coordinator Matt Canada before Sunday’s game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. The other thing they wanted.
The crowd at Acrisure Stadium erupted on Sunday when they introduced rookie cornerback Joey Porter Jr. to the starting lineup. Porter is the team’s second-round pick from the 2023 NFL draft and has been the best cornerback on the team all season.
Porter finds himself in the starting lineup due to an injury to Levi Wallace that has him inactive this week against the Jaguars.

Porter has been rock solid in coverage as a key reserve and got his first NFL interception already this season.
