Cristiano Ronaldo trains with son as "future" comment excites Man Utd fans

Manchester United supporters have been offered a glimpse of what could be an exciting future, with Cristiano Ronaldo ’s son donning a Red Devils training kit along with his dad.

It is believed the 11-year-old joined United last year, when his dad made the same move from Juventus.

Cristiano Jr is the eldest of the Portuguese superstar’s four children and there are already high hopes for his future in the game.

He will do well to have anything like the career of his father, who has shown he still has plenty of life in his legs, scoring 14 goals so far this season.

However, he is yet to score in 2022 and so the mid-season break has come at a perfect time for the 36-year-old to recharge his batteries.

Along with his partner Georgina Rodriguez and children, Ronaldo has spent time in Dubai, with United’s training set to resume this week.

But it hasn’t just been a time for relaxing and he has kept fans updated with his rigorous training regime, both in gyms and on the pitch.

His latest snap showed Ronaldo playing with his son Cristiano Jr, with the younger of the two wearing a full Manchester United training kit.

He captioned the photo with “Present and future” with many on the social media quickly getting excited by the prospect that the youngster could follow in his dad’s footsteps.

Former Real Madrid teammate Marcelo replied “what a photo”, before liking it, along with almost 17 million other users.

And it’s not just fans predicting big things for Cristiano Jr, with his grandmother Dolores Averio suggesting he is already better than her son was as a child.

“At his age, he [Cristiano Jr] plays better than Ronaldo. At the time, Ronaldo didn't have a coach, but today Ronaldo is his son's teacher,” Dolores explained last year.

"He's already saying 'Dad, when we move to Lisbon I want to play for Sporting'.

"Now he's starting out at Manchester [United]. Seeing the two of them together at Sporting was my dream, it would be spectacular."

Ronaldo opened up on his son's "passion" for football earlier this year but warned him it will take "a lot of dedication" to achieve his goals.

"I would love for him to be a footballer, because he feels passion for this sport," Ronaldo told DAZN . "He is a competitor and he hates losing."

"He's fast and he's driven. But this is nothing, it takes a lot of dedication."
