Cristiano Ronaldo told he could 'spoil' Man Utd legacy with Chelsea transfer as £14m bid ready

How long will the Cristiano Ronaldo wall painting remain outside Old Trafford if he was to complete a shock Premier League switch to Chelsea?

Man United fans love Ronaldo, and a move to a direct rival would be a bitter pill to swallow. But as the days drag on with his absence from pre-season still prevalent, speculation continues to build surrounding his future. Whether or not CR7, who was spotted in Lisbon recently, boards the plan for the Australia tour this weekend remains to be seen. However, whatever his decision in this regard could have big implications for both Manchester United and Chelsea.

Initially, the United board, in coherence with Erik ten Hag, wanted the 37-year-old to stay put for the remainder of his current contract, but as time has passed by and his Champions League ambitions have been revealed, that stance is slowly changing to the benefit of new Blues owner Todd Boehly who had held initial talks with Jorge Mendes last month in Portugal. This is because multiple journalists, including the likes of Graeme Bailey alongside Bruno Andrade, have reported that the Red Devils are now willing to cash in on their iconic number 7, whose one-year return has yielded 18 Premier League goals in 2021/22.
