Manchester United's Cristiano Ronaldo has claimed supporters are his 'motivation' to play football.
Ronaldo, 36, has shown no signs of slowing down despite now being firmly in the autumn of his remarkable career.
The forward has been in prolific form for United since his return to the club on deadline day in the summer transfer window, scoring 14 goals in 24 appearances - some of those goals have had great importance - across all competitions this season.
Ralf Rangnick gave United's players the green light to enjoy a winter break following the Reds' 1-0 win over West Ham at Old Trafford last weekend and many of the club's stars have since jetted out to Dubai and Ronaldo is among those on holiday.
But it seems Ronaldo has mixed business with pleasure as he spoke to a live audience at the Dubai Exhibition Centre on Friday.
Ronaldo was asked questions on various different topics, but he also felt the need to send a message to his supporters.
"Listen carefully,” Ronaldo said to the audience.
"What I’m going to say, it's coming from the bottom of my heart.
"I didn’t expect this platform coming up, to see many people like this waiting for me. So, you guys are my motivation to play football. Without you guys, the football would be less. We’re guided by the fans.
"Just to feel that warmth, the love, it makes me feel so proud. I don’t have words to express myself more than that."
