Cristiano Ronaldo's next club confirmed as new contract 'signed' amid Chelsea transfer links

Chelsea's approach for former Manchester United striker Cristiano Ronaldo may have been halted as the 37-year-old has decided his next club, per recent reports. Ronaldo is a free agent after his explosive interview with Piers Morgan on TalkTV, where his outburst about his employers led to the mutual termination of his contract.

"I feel betrayed, and I felt some people don’t want me here," The Portugal international said when asked about his predicament at United. "Not just this year, but last year too.”

While there are question marks over where his future may lie, that has been put on hold for the time being as he plays in what appears to be his final World Cup. Ronaldo has helped the side reach the last 16, where they will face off against Switzerland for a place in the quarter-finals.

However, it appears as though he has finally made a decision on his next club, though it won't be a return to the Premier League on the cards. That's because Marca reports that the striker is set to sign a deal with Saudi outfit Al Nassr on a two-and-a-half-year contract.

The deal will see him play into his 40s, with the salary reported at £432million across the length of the full deal. It comes as a huge blow to the Blues, who are still in search of a striker to solve their goal scoring woes, with Ronaldo linked as an option to do exactly that.

It means that owner Todd Boehly will have to turn his attention elsewhere when it comes to potential transfer targets to fill the void at centre-forward.
