It has been slow going, but at long last Erik ten Hag's squad is starting to take shape.
June was a meagre month full of speculation but ultimately without any action — the first time since 2010 in which Manchester United failed to make a signing in the month. It certainly wasn't a bright start for the supposed rebuild.
But just a few weeks later and things are beginning to look a lot rosier. It helps that Ten Hag looks to have already made an impact on the players with galvanising displays in pre-season, as well as three new bodies coming through the door. Left-back Tyrell Malacia was the first new arrival with Christian Eriksen coming next as the brilliant midfielder joined on a free transfer after leaving Brentford.
