Cristiano Ronaldo claims Manchester United's hierarchy "doubted" that his daughter had a health problem when he requested to miss pre-season.
The Portuguese star was a notable absentee as the club prepared for the new season under Erik ten Hag. Ronaldo had made it known he wanted to leave Old Trafford and failing to go on United's tour before the campaign shone further light on the situation.
Ronaldo has now revealed that he stayed with his family while his daughter dealt with a health condition, but he felt that the club's chiefs were doubting his word. He told Piers Morgan on Talk TV: "I talked with the director and the president of Manchester United and they kind of, but didn't believe, that there was something going wrong, which made me feel bad.
