Criminal investigation launched into P&O Ferries for sacking 800 workers

A criminal investigation has today been launched into P&O Ferries after the firm sacked 800 workers without notice.

The Insolvency Service has placed the firm under criminal investigation and also launched civil investigations into alleged breaches of the law.

It is a legal requirement for firms to notify the Insolvency Service 30 or 45 days in advance when making large UK redundancies.
