Cricketer Devdutt Padikkal's health condition is a reminder of why drastic weight loss should not be ignored

Cricketer Devdutt Padikkal gained attention in 2020 after winning the emerging-player award in his debut IPL season. But his career paused for some time, after he was diagnosed with an acute intestinal issue. His health condition was so severe that it affected his batting form.

The 23-year-old has recently become Karnataka's top run-getter in the 2023-24 Vijay Hazare Trophy. Ahead of IPL 2024 he was traded to Lucknow Super Giants. Devdutt hails from Edapal, Kerala.
