Creative Assembly is playing a difficult hand at the moment, trying to balance excitement for the future while acknowledging current issues. The studio has issued an apology for what’s going on in Total War: Warhammer 3, while trying to drum up buzz for new game reveals in the same breath.

Since launching in 2022, Total War: Warhammer 3 has endured a number of niggling problems. Pricing around DLC and add-ons led to community blowback last year, and now a number of irritating bugs have been chipping away at player goodwill.
