Craig Dawson sets Jarrod Bowen challenge after England hopeful's fine West Ham form

Jarrod Bowen is being touted far and wide for an England call-up next month after the West Ham attacker's superb form this season.

Bowen appears to have taken his game to another level this season and is second to only Mohamed Salah for combined goals and assists in the Premier League.

The 25-year-old has eight of each so far this campaign and a total of 20 goal contributions across all competitions for the 2021/22 season. No English player in the Premier League comes close to Bowen's record with Mason Mount the only Englishman to be in the teens when it comes to league goals and assists.

In 2022 Bowen has stood up when West Ham have needed him most according to David Moyes and in the past three matches the Hammers have been grateful for the England hopeful's heroics.

Bowen has recently been responsible for ensuring West Ham's embarrassment was spared in the FA Cup against Kidderminster Harriers, scoring the winner against Watford and playing a key role in the last gasp draw at the King Power Stadium.

It was a Bowen corner that Craig Dawson put in the back of the next in injury-time against Leicester City and the centre-back has been full of praise for his teammate.

"You can see Jarrod’s confidence is very high and he’s a top, top player," Dawson told WHUTV. "We expect big things from him every week now and hopefully we’ll keep seeing it."

Hammers manager Moyes has been delighted with Bowen's recent form and praised the attacker.

"I think Jarrod is the one that’s standing up at the moment," Moyes told WHUTV.

"In the early part of the season it was Michail Antonio getting the goals and they were coming easy for him. Even Said Benrahma, his levels earlier in the season saw him getting some goals. But Jarrod is the one who is stepping up at the moment, and we’ve been needing him."
