Dallas Cowboys star pass-rusher Micah Parsons recently explained how he prepares for Brandon Aubrey’s field goals, and it’s exactly as superstitious as one might expect.
Parsons, a top contender for this year’s Defensive Player of the Year award, apparently chooses to sit on the bench when Aubrey steps onto the field for a kick.
When asked whether he would stand up if, say, Aubrey was kicking a field goal to win the Super Bowl, Parsons said, “Nope.”
“[I’ll be] praying, bruh,” Parsons told reporters on Wednesday. “You can never jinx it. I might stand up and the weight of the Earth might tip. I just need to let him be.”

The two-time All Pro defender added that he has “the utmost confidence” in Aubrey—as he should, considering Aubrey hasn’t missed a field goal so far this season.
Aubrey, a first-year kicker in the NFL, is 35 for 35 on field goals entering the Cowboys’ regular season finale against the Washington Commanders. The former pro soccer player has made a whopping nine field goals from 50 yards or longer this year and became the first player ever to convert multiple field goals from 59 yards or longer in the same game.
Aubrey will look to extend his perfect streak on Sunday while Parsons eyes reaching 14 sacks for the first time in his career.
