A cow that escaped from a slaughterhouse in Pico Rivera, California, in June 2021 was given a chance at a different life after Grammy-winning songwriter Diane Warren stepped in to help. The animal was one of around 40 cows that broke free from a meatpacking facility and ran through nearby streets. While most of the herd was quickly recovered, one cow remained missing for more than a day. Her eventual capture attracted attention, but it was Warren’s intervention that helped turn the incident into a story of rescue and renewed hope.
