Covid travel rules: Greece to drop all requirements for entry before summer holidays

All entry restrictions to Greece will be dropped ahead of the summer holidays after a government announcement from the country. The Minister of Health of Greece, Thanos Plevris recently confirmed that from May 2 there will be no entry rules for travellers.

He added that no matter where arrivals have arrived from, they will be exempt from having to show their Covid vaccination status, proof of recovery or negative Covid test, as reported by Glasgow Live. Holidaymakers and locals will no longer have to show a Covid Pass to gain entry to bars, restaurants and other events.

This comes after Greece lifted the rule that required travellers to fill out a passenger locator form on March 15. This will be welcomed by those planning on jetting off to the holiday hotspot for the summer holidays, with less steps to take to be flight-ready.

But officials have warned that restrictions could be implemented again after the peak holiday period. And until May 2, travellers still need to show proof of vaccination, or proof of recovery or negative Covid test.

Greece accepts private PCR tests or antigen tests. You can keep up with the latest travel rules on Gov.uk.
