New figures show that cases of Covid-19 in Scotland have jumped by almost a third in a single week. According to Public Health Scotland, 15,541 cases were reported in the week ending in June 19.
That figure is up by 30.5 percent from the previous week, when cases were at 11,909.
The growing number of cases are reported to be due to several new sub variants of the Omicron train, which caused the UK cases to hit one million. Data also shows that hospital admissions for those with Covid increased to 696 in the week ending June 14, a rise of 15.2 percent from the week before.
