Covid Ayrshire: Where you can get vaccinated this week

Clinics in Ayrshire are continuing to provide drop-in Covid-19 vaccines for people over the coming days.

Those aged 12 and over who are unvaccinated and seeking a first dose are among those encouraged to go along and get jabbed.

Clinics can also accommodate drop-ins for people who are due a second dose (including those aged 12 to 15 who have recently become eligible for their second dose), and those seeking their booster vaccines (12 weeks after a second dose).

Drop-in sites aim to boost the number of people across the region who have protection against the virus.

The clinics listed are open from 9am to 11am and from 1pm to 6.30pm unless otherwise stated:

• Wednesday, February 2

  • Grand Hall, Kilmarnock
  • Citadel Leisure Centre, Ayr

• Thursday, February 3

  • Auchinleck Boswell Centre
  • Greenwood Conference Centre (drop-in available 1.30pm to 6.30pm)

• Friday, February 4

  • Greenwood Conference Centre, Dreghorn
  • Maybole Town Hal

• Saturday, February 5

  • Girvan Community Hospital (drop-in available 1pm to 4.30pm)
  • North Ayrshire Council headquarters, Cunninghame House, Irvine (mobile vaccination bus, drop-in open 10am to 3.30pm)

• Sunday 6 February

  • Dalry Primary School (drop-in available 1pm to 4.30pm)
  • Asda, Kilmarnock (Mobile vaccination bus, drop-in open 10am to 3.30pm)

NHS Ayrshire & Arran public health director Lynne McNiven said: “You don’t need an appointment to attend a local drop-in clinic, whether you are due a first, second or booster dose.

“If you prefer to book a slot, there is plenty of bookable capacity at our local vaccine clinics, so call the helpline on 0800 030 8013 to get a date in the diary for this important protection against coronavirus.

“We’ve seen that Covid-19 can be serious at any age and I’d urge everyone who is eligible to come forward for vaccination. Don’t wait for a blue letter – attend a drop-in or make an appointment as soon as possible.”

You can also book a vaccine appointment online via the national portal https://www.nhsinform.scot/vaccinebooking.
