A video showing the moment a man proposed to his girlfriend on one of Scotland's most beautiful beaches has gone down a storm after it was posted online by the happy couple.
Rachel and Michael, both 27, are from Wolverhampton in England and were travelling on the North Coast 500 when they managed to capture the magical moment.
The couple were visiting the beautiful Sango Sands Beach in Durness when Michael decided to get down on one knee.
"I was totally surprised by the proposal," gushed Rachel. "We had been using the drone to capture footage during our trip so I didn’t think anything of it.
"Mike asked me to look towards the drone and as I turned back to him he was getting down on one knee."
She was delighted that even their little French Bulldog Frankie managed to join them for the special moment.
Michael's excellent video was captured by their drone, which he had set up using a QuickShot (Helix) to travel around them independently and film the proposal.
Speaking about why he chose that moment to propose, he told the Daily Record: “I knew I wanted to propose at some point on the NC500, it was just about finding the right place.
"Rach has always loved the beach so when we pulled up to Sango Sands it just felt right. She was so captivated by the view that it gave me chance to grab the ring from the car and pop the question when she was least expecting it."
Rachel added: "It was the week of our anniversary of when we got together which was a nice touch.
"The weather was lovely and we were fortunate enough to get the beach to ourselves."
The trip was their first time doing the NC500, and other than the proposal, Rachel stated that the beautiful sunsets and amazing views on the route will live long in their memory, with highlights including Smoo Cave, Puffin Cove, Duncansby Stacks, the Kylesku Bridge and Dunrobin Castle.
