Countries in Europe and further afield have been dropping all travel restrictions related to Covid as they open up for tourism. International travellers have been used to testing before and after flights, possibly having to self-isolate, and filling out passenger locator forms
Some countries will require evidence of vaccinations or recovery from Covid-19, but the list of countries below require no need to show their vaccination status or take tests. They include countries such as Hungary, Denmark, Ireland, Poland, Romania, Mexico and Costa Rica, Liverpool Echo reports.
Ireland
Travellers heading to Ireland will not need to show proof of vaccination, recovery or a negative test. There are no testing or quarantine requirements and no passenger locator form needed. If you develop COVID-19 symptoms while in Ireland should follow the HSE guidance in relation to isolation and undertaking antigen or PCR testing as appropriate.
Hungary
HUngary lifted all Covid-19 restrictions on March 7. There is no need to show proof of vaccination proof, or a negative test result to enter the country, regardless of your vaccination status.
Romania
All restrictions related to COVID-19 stopped on March 9. There is no longer a requirement to quarantine, to test before entering Romania, or to complete a passenger locator form.
Poland
Tobligation to undergo quarantine on arrival in Poland has been lifted since March 28. There is also no longer a requirement to demonstrate your vaccination status on arrival. A pre-departure test is no longer required for travellers arriving from non-Schengen countries, which includes the UK.
Denmark
Entering Denmark requires no COVID-19 related requirements regarding test or self-isolation.
Norway
Entry requirements for are the same for all travellers, regardless of COVID-19 vaccination status. There is no need to provide your vaccination status for entry to Norway.
Iceland
No COVID-19 related travel restrictions are in place for Iceland.
Montenegro
There is no need to provide your vaccination status or a negative test result for entry to Montenegro.
Slovenia
You no longer need to provide proof of your vaccination status for entry to Slovenia.
Lithuania
British nationals travelling to Lithuania from the UK are no longer required to prove their vaccination status, recovery from COVID-19 or have a negative COVID-19 test result on arrival.
Madeira (Portugal)
It is recommended you complete a passenger locator form before you travel to Madeira and Porto Santo. If you’re travelling with children aged 11 and under, include their details in your form.
There are no other requirements for entry to Madeira and Porto Santo.
Mexico
There are no Covid entry requirements for Brits heading to Mexico, but you will need to complete an immigration form, and need this to enter and leave the holiday hotspot.
As for having some bucket list-worthy experiences there are heaps of incredible places to visit in Mexico, while Cancun and Tulum tend to be a hit if you're after all-inclusive resorts, beautiful beaches and plenty of brilliant bars and restaurants.
Costa Rica
Costa Rica has scrapped its travel insurance requirements related to Covid - the last of its Covid travel rules. The UK Foreign Office does, however, say "the authorities in Costa Rica may restrict travel or bring in new rules at short notice, for example due to a new COVID-19 variant".
Sweden
As of April 1, people travelling to Sweden from the UK are no longer be required to present a negative COVID-19 test or proof of vaccination to visit Sweden.
The Maldives
The Maldives have scrapped all vaccine and Covid test rules for travellers.
