Nottinghamshire’s Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) has outlined plans to increase council tax for every household in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire. Conservative PCC Caroline Henry, who was elected to the role in 2021, has put forward a £14.94 increase on Band D homes for the coming financial year.
For residents living in Band A homes, which make up most homes across the city and county, the rise would mean a £9.96 increase in annual bills. The rise is slightly below the maximum Band D rise of £15 allowed for the coming financial year.
The increase will be discussed by the Nottinghamshire Police and Crime Panel on February 7 when councillors will be asked to approve the rise. In a report, Mrs Henry said: “In all three years to 2022/23, PCCs were to be allowed to increase Band D bills by as much as £10.
