Council announces expected start time for £3.5m repairs to Caerau homes damaged in insulation scandal

A council has given an estimated start time for repair work to begin on hundreds of homes damaged by poor insulation installations.

More than 100 homes in Caerau were damaged after insulation installation work funded through multiple schemes 10 years ago resulted in serious damp and mould.

Bridgend County Borough Council (BCBC), which provided Welsh Government funding to a company called Green Renewable Wales Ltd (GRW) to carry out work on 25 properties, was awarded £2.65 million by the Welsh Government last month to carry out "essential" remedial work.
