Cost of staying at Channel 4's Escape to the Chateau venue

A stay at the Escape to the Chateau grounds could set you back several thousand pounds.

Dick and Angel Strawbridge have worked tirelessly on the chateau since moving in back in 2015. Boasting an impressive 45 bedrooms in the Mayenne area of France, the home is the star of their Channel 4 renovation docuseries.

Not only does it act as the Strawbridge residence, but those who have no idea of the family's show will be swept away by the building's incredible backdrop and location for weddings and events.

Fans can also take part in a tour of the grounds or stay the night in one of the "elegant camping" packages. With thousands already injected into renovations, you may wonder how much it costs to stay.

Though currently "out of stock" on their website, the camping retreat offers guests to stay in a one-of-a-kind dome, branded "the Chateau Under the Stars." The geodesic accommodation takes glamping to the extreme as it includes a shower, a kitchen a wood burner and a French breakfast for up to six.

The family also offers a welcome basket with local delicacies, fishing and biking equipment and even free use of the games room in the chateau. Those looking to take up the camping package have two options; £350 for guests to sleep in a double bed for two guests and the other with a double bed and two singles. One dome costs £350 but for both domes – maximum four adults and two children – it’s £600 per night.

To stay in the chateau itself is more expensive, with Evening Standard reporting a minimum night costing £5,850. Weddings are the big money makers for the Strawbridge's as they offer full use of their 12-acre land and 14-room abode.

The Orangery, which has an authentic Art Deco style, seats for a wedding breakfast whereas the salle à manger offers a more intimate occasion for 12 to enjoy a sit-down tasting menu. Depending on what package is placed, weddings can range from £19,000 - £38,000.
