Coronation Street star Jack James Ryan has bid an emotional farewell to his co-star following his exit.
Leo Thompkins was murdered by Stephen Reid in shock scenes earlier this year, after Leo rumbled Stephen's plan to steal money from his mum Audrey Roberts and fleece her for hundreds of thousands of pounds. Stephen is in debt and has been desperately trying to find a way to secure more income to allow him to settle his debtors and move ahead in life.
Jack - who plays Jacob Hay on the ITV soap - paid tribute to his co-star Joe Frost, as he described the actor as an "absolute class act" and a "total gent". However, Jack shared his disappointment that the pair barely had any scenes together.
Taking to Twitter, he wrote a sweet message for his co-star as he penned: "Brilliant episode of #Corrie, quality stuff from @matthiltondir. Gutted to see @Joe_Frost1 go, he’s an absolute class act and a total gent.
"We were totally deprived of Jacob & Leo content. See you on the next one brother! RIP Leo."
Leo was killed in shocked scenes on Monday when Stephen angrily attacked Leo after he threatened to tell Audrey and the police about his evil plan. As he covered up the murder, across the Cobbles, Jenny was planning an exciting life in Canada with Leo.
Actress Sally Ann Matthews previously teased some dramatic scenes ahead as the fall out from the murder begins.
"It was very dramatic last night! We're really fortunate we have a brilliant director; he's come up through the ranks and he's a fantastic director. Wednesday night's episode, the first scene is quite shocking and brilliant," she revealed earlier this week.
Todd Boyce - who plays Stephen - has also confessed there's a possibility his character could turn to murder again.
When asked if Stephen would kill again, Todd shared to The Mirror and other press: "I don't know, I'm not sure. I think he's capable of just killing more people and going on and doing that, but watch this space."
Todd's co-stars are also fearing the worst, as he joked: "In the green room, I've been offered a lot of cups of tea by a lot of people who wanna find out how long I'm going to be doing the show, and how many people I am gonna kill."
