Coronation Street have confirmed Faye Windass will depart the Cobbles in emotional scenes next week.
Actress Ellie Leach is departing the soap in scenes that will air next week on the ITV programme, after having played Faye for over a decade. Faye has been struggling to decide between Craig and her former flame Jackson, who recently returned to Weatherfield to give their daughter Miley a chance to bond with her mother.
However, as Jackson plans to move down south for work, Faye is given an impossible choice about whether to stay up north with her fiancé Craig and the rest of her family or move down, be with Jackson and start a new life.
Next week, viewers will see Faye leave the Cobbles as she finally makes her decision.
At the start of the week, she is feeling imprisoned by Craig as she struggles with the fact he knows her secret about what happened to Ted, the man she and Emma killed, but he promises he would never ever report her to the police.
He tells her they should buy their first home together as well as settle on a date for their wedding, but as Tim tells her he's glad she picked Craig, it leaves Faye feeling even more heartbroken about what she has decided.
Jackson and Miley decide they should have a final family outing with Faye before she leaves, but she can't bring herself to go. She cries to Gary, telling him she wants to be with Jackson but she can't leave Craig or he'll reveal her secret.
Later on in the week, Faye tells Craig that Miley and Jackson are coming over, and have plans to call around to take photos before they leave for Slough and their new start. Tim and Sally join them for the group photos.
Miley admits she plans to make a photo album to remember them all by, leaving Faye clearly emotional.
Craig, seeing she's upset, tells her she should go if she wants to with Jackson and Miley to Slough, insisting he wants what is best for her - whatever that might take. She makes her decision and packs a case.
With her decision made, Faye leaves Walford with Jackson and Miley, as Craig is left heartbroken standing in the street.
