Coronation Street's Craig Tinker and Faye Windass are set to have their relationship tested in the coming weeks.
Colson Smith and Ellie Leach play the on-screen couple on the ITV soap and have revealed what's coming up for the duo as they navigate their relationship. Faye's been struggling with her health and the pair were tested when Faye and Emma ( Alexandra Mardell ) accidentally caused the death of an elderly man called Ted.
The duo admitted their characters have had quite a "challenging time" so far but they don't see any chance of things slowing down for them, with plenty of drama ahead in the coming weeks and months.
Speaking exclusively to The Mirror at the Inside Soap Awards this week, Colson revealed of the pair's upcoming storylines: "I think Craig and Faye are really great together and I think it makes a lot of sense for them to carry on and be happy, but I guess it's a really challenging time for Faye and Craig's got to be as supportive as he can be.
"Whether he will be supportive, or trying to do his best, we'll have to wait and see because that's been the theme of things so far."
Ellie said she was "hopeful" the two could have some smooth sailing, but admitted it was unlikely.
"We hope for the best don't we, but I think no relationship comes without its challenges. I think it's being able to portray real life relationships that's what's good about it. Whether it's going to be plain sailing, who knows?" she added.
The pair have been busy with their recent storylines - and they have an idea what direction they'd like to take the couple this winter.
Asked if there was any storylines they'd like to cover one day, Ellie joked: "I think our characters have been through a lot. I think we've been through every up and down there is!" However, Colson knows exactly what he'd like to go back to.
"You know when Craig and Tim were window cleaning, that was cool. I think a family business on the street would be good going! I think there could be some proper Corrie moments in there!" Colson said, with Ellie adding: "Maybe a few more happy times."
