Coronation Street fans have predicted an "unlikely" romance between two characters amid the harrowing acid attack storyline.
Ryan Connor was permanently scarred after he stepped in the way of evil Justin, who had planned to throw acid on Daisy Midgeley in a bid to try and win her over for good. He was convinced that if she had some sort of facial disfigurement, it meant he could prove he was the only one who would really love her for her and not for her looks.
However, Ryan ended up being hit by the acid in a huge twist and will now have his injuries for the rest of his life.
On yesterday's episode of the ITV soap, Ryan refused to see anyone as he struggled with the changes in his life now. Daisy tried to visit him, but he didn't want to look at her. Racked with guilt, Daisy sat with him - but fans are convinced their bond could spark a new romance for the pair, despite all of this happening on Daisy's wedding day to Daniel.
"I think a relationship is going to occur," one wrote, whilst another added: "Daisy & Daniel sorry it’s a no go there! Right from the start it’s been a shambles, Not meant to be , As for Daisy & Ryan they will help each other through this …. Fall in love again!"
A third viewer shared: "I sense Daisy will have a lot of guilt with this. A lot. I also hope it brings them closer. Daisy is deserving of a man who treats her kindly and with respect. No disrespect to the character of Daniel, but he has not been the kindest/most charming/supportive to Daisy during their romance."
It comes after actor Ryan Prescott admitted it would be a long road ahead for his character.
He told The Mirror and other press: "He's started see life will never be the same again, in which he's kinda of trying to reach out and clutch on to whatever he can within his life that will allow him to deny this reality. One of them being Alya, this new love interest Crystal. As he sees these things slipping away he tries to reach out and grab a hold of them in desperation, but I think he knows.
"As soon as something like this happens there are stages of acceptance and denial, but slowly bit by bit he starts to understand the gravity of his wounds and what has happened. It's going to change his life forever because it changes the way he interacts with the world. The difficulty in the parameters of soap is to show some reality in the longevity of what it means to be an acid attack survivor."
