Coronation Street welcomed back Simon Barlow after a brief on-screen absence.
Simon has been with the show for nearly two decades, first appearing all the way back in 2003. Though the actor has naturally gone through several recasts, the character has remained a recurring background character for the cobbles.
Simon is more of a neutral cast member but dealt with some of the show's heavier subjects including bullying and abuse. The teenager's rough spots may be over for the time being as he managed to duck away from the spotlight over the last few weeks.

Popping up in tonight's episode to give his parents a strict telling-off, viewers were stunned to see him back on their screens. Joking about his sudden emergence, one fan said: "They’ve unlocked the Simon cupboard after months."
Another added: "Where’s Simon suddenly appeared from? He’s not been in it for ages." Whilst a third said: "Not seen Simon in ages."
A final added: "Not seen Simon in ages." Simon was seen bursting into the kitchen to let it be known he was against letting Sam see Harvey in prison. Despite his tantrum, Sam was taken to finally get answers on why his mother was killed.
