Coronation Street's Kelly Neelan 'broken' as exit nears but fans baffled by blunder

Coronation Street fans were baffled by a blunder as Kelly Neelan's show exit nears.

Sunday's edition of the long-running soap continued to explore the character's exit storyline. The character is played by Millie Gibson, who confirmed Kelly's turbulent time on the Cobbles will soon come to an end.

Millie has filmed her final scenes as she shared snaps from her leaving party with her co-stars last month. The soap’s producer Iain MacLeod has revealed Kelly's exit will be marked by an epic stunt, which will air as part of a Super September week.

The set piece will also involve Gary Windass, who killed Kelly's dad, Rick. Kelly's mum confessed she was to blame for Rick's murder when she was on her deathbed.

However, Kelly's world was turned upside down in tonight's episode she when uncovered her late mum's camera. Dated photos revealed she was on holiday on the day Rick was murdered so couldn't have possibly been the killer.

Rick's former sidekick, Sharon, returned for tonight's show and said Kelly was "broken" by the revelation. She refused to maintain the lie and later confessed the truth that Gary was the real killer.

However, viewers following the show on Twitter were distracted during the revelation as they were baffled how Kelly was able to access her mum's camera so long after she last used it.

Dan said: "Yeah the battery won't have died?"

Karen added: "That camera has an epic battery"

Stuart posted: "Someone must have charged to batteries for that camera."

@corriepodcast commented : "I'm enjoying this episode very much so I currently have no comment to make about Laura's Camera and its Unfeasibly Long-Lasting Battery. Maybe later"

@MissLMunster tweeted: "As if the battery would still be charged in that camera and nobody has used a compact camera for about 10 years"
