Coronation Street's Dame Maureen Lipman said she couldn't go on as she shared details of her last day on set.
The 76-year-old soap star first appeared on the show as Evelyn Plummer in 2018 and soon become a fan favourite. However, she is set to leave the show temporarily to play the lead role in Rose when it arrives in the West End.
She appeared on today's Loose Women to discuss her upcoming theatre role and lifted the lid on her exit storyline. She said: "They've really put me through it the last few weeks.

"I've had seven scenes to learn a day. The last shot last night I literally lay on the floor and said 'I can't go on'."
The show broadcast an image of Dame Maureen on the floor as she joked: "That is me at the end of yesterday and now I'm here sparkling."
It has been a turbulent period for Dame Maureen on the soap as she had to say goodbye to her onscreen dog, Cerberus. The death had repercussions in Weatherfield as it threatened her friendship with Roy Cropper.
Dame Maureen assured the Loose Women panel that her exit will be temporary and she will continue to be a part of the show. She signed a contract extension last year and launched a fierce defence of Corrie when she extended her deal.
She told Reader's Digest: "I won’t hear a word against it. It’s full of quite exceptional actors working with very little rehearsal, very little direction.
‘Am I envious of some of my peers? Sometimes, yes. Do I have the right to be? Of course not. Would I like to be in Sex Education? Yes, of course. Am I sorry I’ve signed up with Corrie for another year? No, I’m not."
