Coronation Street fans have been left saddended by a sudden exit and hope that Ryan Connor won't be away for long. During the first trip to the cobbles this week, viewers saw him decide to say goodbye to Weatherfield as he focuses on his recovery.
In May, viewers of the ITV soap were horrified when the former DJ was left with burns to his face and arm after he stepped in and took the brunt of the acid hurled at ex-Daisy by her stalker Justin Rutherford on her wedding day. In shocking scenes, Daisy lept into action and dragged Ryan upstairs and into the shower as she called for help.
Ryan was rushed to the hospital and has since faced challenges coming to terms with his injuries and also faced finding out that he was being catfished by Daisy as she pretended to be his former love interest, Crystal, after she headed back to work in Ibiza and pulled the job she had offered Ryan due to his accident.

Weeks on from when the truth came out and during Monday night's Corrie (July 10), Ryan was seen leaving in a taxi as he headed to visit his mum Michelle Connor in Ireland.
At the end of the episode, he was seen to bid farewell to the street including Carla, with Daisy Midgeley unable to get there to say her goodbyes in time.
And while it's not known whether his exit will be permanent or whether he's due back, Corrie fans are really hoping for the latter. @ElloTeenah said: "Well.. I'm devastated Ryan has left (again). Just when I think soap is going to show the long term affects of something so life changing, it's an exit storyline. None the less, Ryan Prescott should be proud of all he has done. #Corrie."
@MatthewPGormley echoed: "Ryan Prescott has been excellent in the acid attack storyline and has proven that he's been underused during his time in Coronation Street. It's a shame he's gone. #CoronationStreet #Corrie." @yasmin_ali10 posted: "#corrie goodbye Ryan. Don't stay away too long mate."
@fansvfavourites shared: "I don’t think i can live happily until ryan is back #Corrie." @chattymandan added: "Hope Ryan isn’t away too long maybe he can bring Michelle back too #corrie."
But some were also distracted. It came as Ryan packed up his suitcase and viewes saw Ryan staring at himself topless in the mirror, showing that he's still nnot comfortable with what the incident has physically and mentally forced upon him.
And if anyone was going to build his confidence, it was Corrie fans' comments on social media. @weyland76 gushed: "Omg shirtless Ryan finally! Holy heck that is a very pleasant sight. #Corrie." @DonnyMacEdin wrote: "#Corrie Ryan topless… we thank you." @azz_sparks added: "We all still appreciate Ryan taking his top off! @itvcorrie #corrie."
