Coronation Street is likely to feature a double murder next week as a revenge twist leads to a gruesome attack. There's panic among the town of Weatherfield as residents realise a loved one is in danger after they're targeted with a sinister threat.
Spider receives a shock for him and his family as a comment from Leanne Battersby brings his attention to something which is very wrong reports the Mirror. Soon his fears are realised as he rushes home to find his partner Toyah Battersby and Leanne's stepson Sam missing from the flat - and there's blood everywhere.
In the wake of this threat to Spider, it all kicks off - and it comes after he helped get racist Griff put behind bars earlier this year in the soap's dark extremism storyline. Spider was revealed to be an undercover police officer working to bring Griff and his group down from the inside and he almost died when the truth came out.
Eventually - with the help of other residents - he and the police caught Griff and he's been behind bars ever since. It is revealed Griff is out for blood, as Spider is warned by his superintendent that he might do well to move away from the street with a new identity.
And as the threat heightens, Spider contemplates the move, leaving partner Toyah looking for answers over his odd behaviour. A paranoid Toyah goes through his laptop, discovering he’s been emailing his ex and searching for houses near her.
Under fire, Spider explains he’s been trying to accelerate his divorce and his savings went on something for her. It's then that he pops the question – but will Toyah agree to marry Spider?
Later in the week, amid the new role offer, Spider receives a message from his pursuer with instructions to meet. Without letting on to Toyah, Spider informs his superiors and heads off to the location - but his unknown enemy fails to turn up.
Meanwhile at the flat, a woman arrives to see Toyah, introducing herself as Spider’s wife and Toyah speaks with her about recent events. Back to Spider, and alarm bells ring when Leanne sees him and he tells her that his wife isn’t in the country.
Spider phones Toyah and warns her the woman is an imposter, but Toyah is trapped and it seems she is attacked. Leanne and Spider burst into the flat they find signs of a disturbance, no Toyah or Sam, and blood on the floor.
It comes after recent pictures from location showed Toyah actress Georgia Taylor filming very dramatic scenes. Toyah, sporting a bloodied face, appears to be kidnapped by a mystery character with her shown lifeless in the back of a van.
She also appears to be gagged in another snap from filming, and it seems this pictures follow the scenes that air next week. The outcome remains unknown, while young Sam wasn't shown in the location snaps so perhaps he is safe.
