“On the first floor, three rooms are under construction. One of them was for my son. Construction was recently stopped due to lack of construction material. I don’t know who would occupy the room now,” said Phijam Ibungobi Singh, who retired as additional superintendent of police (wireless) last year, at his house in Manipur’s Imphal.
Singh’s son Phijam Hemajit Singh had gone missing along with his friend Laungbi Linthoingambi Hijam in Imphal on July 6. Over the next two weeks, the families of the two 17-year-old class 12 students filed police complaints, met chief minister Biren Singh, and also sent a memorandum to governor Anusuiya Uikey for help.
