Cops hunt house raiders after cars and designer goods are stolen in South Lanarkshire

Police are appealing for information after high-value break-ins and thefts in the Biggar and Lanark areas.

The first incident happened in River View, Lanark, at 2.50pm on Wednesday, March, 29.

Three men broke into a property and stole various jewellery and designer goods items before leaving in small white hatchback-style vehicle towards Carstairs.

The second incident happened on Station Road, Biggar, between 11.30pm on Sunday, April 9, and 1.30am on Monday, April 10.

Two men broke into a property and stole various items, including jewellery and a blue BMW. The car was recovered in the Penicuik area of Midlothian a short time later.

The men left in the direction of Biggar Main Street in small white hatchback style vehicle.

Detective Constable Sarah Wardlaw of CID is urging witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward.

She said: “Enquiries are ongoing to trace those responsible for both incidents. We are keen to hear from anyone who may have seen a small white hatchback-style vehicle around the time of the incidents.

"I would appeal to motorists with dash-cam footage to get in touch, you may have captured something that could assist our enquiries.”

Anyone with information is urged to call police on 101, quoting incident number 0908 of Monday, 10 April, 2023 or incident number 2564 of Wednesday, 29 March. Alternatively contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
