Conor McGregor v Jake Paul 'a good fight' - Eddie Hearn

Eddie Hearn believes Conor McGregor v Jake Paul would be a good fight and has urged the YouTuber to try and secure the bout.

Paul has won five fights since taking up boxing, with four of those victories coming via knockout.

The most recent of those wins came against former UFC fighter Tyron Woodley, who he knocked out in the sixth round of their rematch last month.

Speaking to DAZN, Matchroom boss Hearn said: "For me, the fight is Conor McGregor. I keep saying it. I think it’s a good fight, to be honest with you.

"You’ve got the weight difference. Conor McGregor can box. He’s not a boxer but he’s had an amateur background.

"He’s a lot more accomplished than a Tyron Woodley or an Askren and these kinds of people.

"And it's a massive fight. But obviously you've got the whole UFC, Dana White - Jake Paul."

McGregor is currently recovering from the broken leg he suffered in his trilogy fight with Dustin Poirier last summer and is expected to return to the octagon later this year.

Paul offered the Dubliner $50million to fight him last year, but McGregor refused.

Speaking last year, the former two-weight champion described Paul as a "confused, little kid".

He said: "He seems like a confused little kid to me to be honest. Now he’s willing to get in (the ring) so I don’t know what will happen. It’s not on the radar at the minute with the young lad."

Hearn complimented Paul for getting UFC President White to engage with him.

The boxing promoter added: "Jake Paul's done really well to engage Dana White in those conversations.

"I've got a huge amount of respect for Dana White and I was quite shocked that he posted a video about Jake Paul addressing him.

"That would have been music to Jake Paul's ears. Music to his ears, because that's what he does, he goads you to the point you start talking back."
